 CALGARY, Alberta (Ticker) -- Alexander Selivanov scored a power-play goal, Eric Houde tallied shorthanded and Tommy Salo turned aside 28 shots, leading the Edmonton Oilers to a 3-1 exhibition victory over the Calgary Flames. Flames defenseman Phil Housley took a high-sticking penalty at 1:15 of the first period and Selivanov cashed in nine seconds later, giving Edmonton a 2-0 lead. Houde made it 3-0 with 3:25 left in the second period. He stripped a defender of the puck and whacked his own rebound past Grant Fuhr for his second preseason goal. Marc Savard spoiled Salo's shutout bid at 4:51 of the third period. The Oilers improved to 5-2 despite playing the preseason without holdouts Roman Hamrlik, Bill Guerin and Mike Grier. Fuhr finished with 17 saves for the Flames, who dropped to 2-5-0.
