ASHBURN, Va. -- Washington Redskins quarterback Brad Johnson
sprained a ligament in his left knee when hit on a pass play during
the final touchdown drive in Monday night's 27-21 loss to
Tennessee.

Trainer Bubba Tyer said Tuesday that Johnson won't practice
Wednesday, and he will probably list the quarterback as
"questionable" for Sunday's game at Arizona.
"I'm concerned to some degree," Tyer said.
Johnson was hurt on a pass play to Stephen Davis. He stayed in
the game, and trainers applied ice to the knee after the game.
Jeff George is the backup quarterback. Signed to a four-year,
$18.25 million contract in April, George has yet to play a down
this season.
Johnson threw three interceptions in Monday night's loss, but
his quarterback rating of 81.2 is fifth in the NFC.
Johnson's injury was one of many suffered by the Redskins on
Monday night.
Receiver Irving Fryar (rib cartilage) looks doubtful for Sunday.
Receiver James Thrash (bruised thigh) "needs a couple of days of
rest," Tyer said.
Receiver Albert Connell has a bruised shoulder and a bruised
right knee and is "day-to-day."
Three starters -- center Cory Raymer, guard Tre Johnson and
receiver Michael Westbrook -- already have been lost for the season
to knee injuries. In addition, guard Keith Sims has a painful
Achilles' tendon that keeps him from practicing.
