CLEMSON, South Carolina (Ticker) -- With the NCAA season heating up, so is Clemson.

The Tigers defeated the Wofford Terriers, 73-63, for their eighth straight win, but it wasn't easy.

Clemson (9-2) could not put away the game until late in the second half when a late 12-0 run gave the Tigers a 70-58 cushion with 1:17 to go.

Clemson's starters scored 55 of the team's 73 points, led by guard Chrissy Floyd's 20. Center Erin Betth dominated with 19 points, 12 rebounds and four steals, Marci Glenny added 10 points and five assists and Krystal Scott had 12 points, four steals and shot 6-of-8 from the free throw line. Scott played 38 minutes at the point and did not commit any turnovers.

Clemson essentially won the game at the free throw line despite shooting only 66.7 percent (20-of-30). They attempted 30 shots from the line to Wofford's 11.

The Terriers (4-5) outshot Clemson from the floor and 3-point range but did not get to the line enough to make up the difference. They shot 52.1 percent from the floor (25-of-48) while Clemson managed only 39.7 percent (25-of-63) and was only 3-for-13 from 3-point range.

Guard Jenny Nett scored 19 points and pulled down five rebounds for Wofford, and Nancy Dubuisson scored 10 points and grabbed nine boards off the bench.

The loss was Wofford's third straight and fourth in five games after opening the season 2-1.

After falling behind by six just before halftime, the Tigers rallied to tie at the break with a 6-0 run in the final 1:38. Early in the second half, Clemson opened a 10-point lead during a three-minute scoring drought by Wofford. The Terriers rebounded with a 15-4 run to go up one with 8:18 to go before hitting another seven-minute drought that coincided with Clemson's 12-0 run that put away the game.
