Virginia Tech continues to lead ESPN.com's Heisman Poll, but another new face has emerged that could provide some competition.

Oklahoma's Josh Heupel, who received just two points and was ninth last week, sky rocketed to fifth place and earned one first place vote after his 374-yards, two TD performance in the Sooners' win over Kansas State last Saturday.

Vick still remains the player to beat as he earned four first place votes and notched 38 points after a 233 yard, two TD effort in the Hokies' win over West Virginia.

Nebraska's Eric Crouch snagged two first place votes and 23 points to place second while Florida State's Chris Weinke -- fresh off a career best 536-yard effort against Duke -- earned one first place vote and scored 22 points. Purdue's Drew Brees was fourth with one first place vote and 18 points.

The Heisman Poll features nine ESPN coaches, analysts and writers, and will appear weekly during the season. Panelists are asked to vote for their top five and players are awarded five points for a first-place vote, four for second and so on down the line.
