Wagner (4-3) scored first with a 20-yard field goal by Garrett O'Rourke in the first quarter. But Zaccheo evened it up with a 30-yarder. A 60-yard Marist drive late in the first quarter ended with Steve Weidl's 1-yard run to make the score 10-3. Wagner responded with a 66-yard drive ending with Lou Simone's 35-yard TD pass to Chuck Kinsley. Marist's Miguel Reyes' 8-yard run for a touchdown put Marist ahead again, but Wagner's Rick Sarille soon finished a 68-yard drive with a 31-yard TD rush. With the score tied 17-17 into the fourth quarter, Wagner drove to the Marist 14-yard line. But O'Rourke's 32-yard field goal attempt was blocked by Matt O'Connell.
