 COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) _ Quarterback Grant Swallows came off the bench to pass for a career high 185 yards as Tennessee Tech beat Liberty 18-15 Saturday. Swallows, a sophomore who stepped in after a lethargic first quarter for Tech (1-1), accumulated 233 offensive yards. He scrambled for 53 yards in the game's final minutes to keep the ball away from Liberty (1-2). Tennessee Tech scored first just before halftime when David Collett kicked a 37-yard field goal. Liberty answered with a touchdown in the third quarter when Gavin Kralik caught a 14-yard pass from Christian Newsome. Tech rallied back when Jerome Tillman scored on a 3-yard run and Branon Vaughn recovered a fumble to set up a 27-yard field goal, giving Tech a 13-7 lead at the end of the third quarter. Tech increased its lead in the fourth quarter on a safety by Vaughn on a quarterback sack and a 24-yard field goal by Collett. Liberty's Stacey Nobels led all rushers with 81 yards.
