The first half of the 2002 MLB season is in the books and ESPN.com asked users to look at the season so far and select their midseason favorites for MVP, Cy Young and Rookie of the Year. The results are in and our first poll in this year's midseason Fan Favorites was AL MVP. The voting couldn't have been closer but the Yankees Jeremy Giambi narrowly beats out Nomar and Paul Konerko for the award. Check out the candidates below, what we had to say about each player and the ESPN.com poll results.
Nomar Garciaparra, Red Sox
Jason Giambi, Yankees
Paul Konerko, White Sox
Torii Hunter, Twins
Alex Rodriguez, Rangers
Ichiro Suzuki, Mariners
