 PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. (AP) _ Ruben Mateo and Gabe Kapler homered as the Texas Rangers beat the Philadelphia Phillies 7-6 on Sunday. Mateo hit his fifth homer of the spring, a two-run shot in the second, and Kapler hit a solo homer, his second, later in the inning off Phillies starter Paul Byrd. Rafael Palmeiro was 2-for-2 with a double and Ivan Rodriguez also a solo home run for the Rangers. Philadelphia took advantage of two Ranger errors to score two unearned runs in the sixth to cut the lead to 4-3. Two more runs in the seventh gave the Phillies a 5-4 lead. The Rangers rallied for two more runs in the bottom half of the frame and one in the eighth to get the win. Darren Oliver pitched 5 1-3 innings following John Wetteland's one inning of work, his third of the spring for Texas. Jeff Zimmerman picked up the win throwing 1 2-3 innings and Ryan Glynn earned the save. Dennis Reyes took the loss for the Phillies. Mike Lieberthal went 2-for-4 with four RBIs to lead the Phillies.
